Speaker:
As a speaker, I am willing to go where God calls knowing He will provide the message He intends for the audience. Of course, there are some topics I speak on more frequently. I have been speaking for twenty years to audiences of various size and make up. I have been a keynote speaker as well as a small group facilitator. Below are some of the arenas I have spoken at as well as some of the more common topics.
Places:
MOPS - I have been a coordinator and mentor mom for MOPS and have spoken at meetings quite often as well as the devotions portion of the meeting.
Women's Retreats - As the Director of Ladies Ministry, I have coordinated many retreats. At these retreats, my role has varied from emcee to keynote speaker. Each event was unique to itself from the planning stages to the actual event. As the founder of the Sista-Herd retreats, I plan these retreats twice a year. Personally speaking at these events is in direct correlation to the plans the Lord has.
Ladies' Conferences - I have spoken at various women's conferences through the country. The subject matter and theme of the conferences have varied.
Mission trips - I have been blessed to be able to provide a devotion at various mission trips that I have attended.
Topics:
God's Plan For an Abused Child
How to Love Our Lord
Failure to be a Blessing
Being in God's Will
Finding Your Ministry
Author:
I never dreamed that when Tom deployed to Afghanistan that I would embark on such an adventure. To keep my mind off the possibilities that waited on Tom everyday, I began to create stories in my head. This was wonderful during long road trips with just the highway in front of me and kids behind me. This was the beginning of my writing and speaking path.
I never fantasized about being a novelist. I never even thought about it. Actually, when I finished my first manuscript I let two friend read it, then I put it in a box and put it on a shelf. I didn't even look at it again until Tom came home. I shared the pages with him and he encouraged me to pursue publishing the book. Who knew publishing could be such a nightmare and so much fun at the same time!!
